I’m not sure what traditional mommy issues are, as distinct from daddy issues. In both cases my guess would be some sense of love withheld or lack of acceptance; at its most stereotypical, leading to attachment issues in other relationships. … OK, ok, my sense of gender stereotypes is coming back to me a bit; I guess someone with traditional mommy issues seeks out nurturing in other relationships but simultaneously mistrusts any nurturing they find, fearing abandonment. Someone with traditional daddy issues seeks out approval and maybe something like discipline, but whenever they find what they’re looking for, they feel resentful and rebellious, mistrusting the perceived control being exerted over them.
