Also, I’ve been thinking for a while now that it’s the Order itself sending dragons to kill people. The Order has people who are “sanctioned” to have dragons. The dragons kill people who have committed “blasphemy” against the Order. They don’t seem to attack in Tidewater, where the Order has no power. Religion and parents have been controlling people for thousands of years with mere threats of monsters. Having actual fire/lightning-breathing monsters show up and torch people sounds like a pretty effective means of control to me.
Also also (needs an edit function) that there in the second panel sure looks to me like a spot to stick something, like say a sol shard, or another macguffin they’ve found.
That dragon statue has looked really angry from most angles… and really sad from this one.
